Guide for New Families

New To Lebanon Ballet School?

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in Lebanon Ballet School. We know in any new endeavor the hardest part can be figuring out how to get started. While there’s a lot to consider when enrolling your student in classes, we’re here to help you in making it as simple as possible.

Students enrolling in the dance programs are on a path of serious training. Lebanon Ballet School ascribes to a conventionally structured system that sees dancers starting with one ballet class per week, and working up to (over several years) daily ballet classes with conditioning and/or other dance styles.

Where Do I Start?

It all depends on where you’re starting from. Consider the two scenarios below.

My student is eager and ready to begin ballet training.

Our placement starting point is your student’s age as of the beginning of the school year. Students, ages 8+, are required to attend  a placement class prior to registering (see Calendar in Summer Classes).

Student Age Class Placement
3–5 Dance With Me
5–6 Ballet I
6–8 Ballet II
9–12 Ballet III
9–12 Ballet IV
13+ Ballet V
13+ Ballet VI
13+ Adult/Teen

Our Staff will help you to determine the appropriate level for your student’s age and experience. Please contact us and we’ll guide you from here (see contact information below).

My student is interested in dance, but we’re uncertain as to whether we’re ready to make the commitment to a dance training program.

We totally understand! While the expectations of a dance training program may give you pause, we hope you’ll allow us to act as a guide and resource in considering your options. The Staff is here to help. Just contact us (see contact information below).

What’s Next?

When you are ready to enroll your student: first, if they are 8 years old or older, attend a Placement Class (see Summer Classes calendar). After that, or if under 8, download the registration form from the website. (There are different forms for different classes and divisions, so make sure that you have selected the appropriate one!)

  • Complete the Registration Form
  • Send, by mail or email, the Completed Form and Payment to LBS:

My Student Is Registered, Now What?

Following the receipt of your student’s registration and payment, you will receive a Confirmation Letter, which includes your student’s starting date, day(s) and time(s) of classes. Please arrange with the Staff a date and time to be fitted for  Dance Attire (email is best).

Other than that, just cue the music and get ready to start dancing!
